iPod ShuffleiPod ShuffleApple has dropped the price of one of its most popular iPods, the tiny iPod Shuffle. The 1GB MP3 player is easily mistaken for a book of matches. But a new version of the Apple iPod Shuffle will light up twice as many hits with 2GB storage.

With new improvments on its products, Apple likes to lower the price of the old - a great habit for bargain hunters. Now the 1GB iPod shuffle will only cost $49, that's down from its previous price of $79. The new 2GB version of Apple's no-screen MP3 player will retail for $69, even less than the 1GB model's old price.

The tiny clip-on MP3 players come in a range of colors including the hip, socially conscious and Bono recommended iPod Shuffle Red.

(Product) Red is the charity movement involving many companies that have agreed to donate profits from sales of their (Product) Red line. Apple has been one of the founding members of the movement.

Can we recommend an iPod Shuffle? All of Apple's iPods are among the best quality mini-storage devices available. Just don't sit on it. The new iPod shuffles are so tiny they're easy to lose.

The only thing that prevents a full recommendation of the unit is the DRM (Digital Rights Management). Wouldn't it be nice to plug your mini-MP3 player to any computer's USB port and just copy its contents back and forth using Windows Explorer?

Not with any Apple iPod - you're forced to use iTunes and assigning an exclusive relationship with the device.
