Warner Gets Serious about Blu-ray Distribution
Warner will try a new tactic to increase retail sales of Blu-ray movie discs by releasing them on Blu-ray before they arrive on DVD.
Warner is the top home media producer outselling all the others in DVD and Blu-ray. In fact it’s so dominant in the home video market that its switch from HD DVD to Blu-ray was widely seen as the nail in the coffin.
Now the company is testing something new in an effort to improve sales of its Blu-ray discs by selling before DVD. So far the company is going to release the comedy Be Kind Rewind on Blu-ray on June 10th, that’s a full week before it hits DVD.
Will Warner’s effort create a spike in sales for the Jack Black movie co-starring Mos Def and Danny Glover? We’ll have to be kind and wait-and-see.

Don't worry, monthly PSN fees are in the works when Mr. Kutaragi's master plan kicks and PS3 really takes off in three or four years from now when the world realizes how superior it really is... then our user base will be close enough to Xbox Live that we'll begin billing you a monthly.
Dammit people, we're Sony, not the United Way!
