Xbox 360 Update on Live, Halo 3 Back on Top
Logging into Xbox Live today will reveal a new update to your 360. Be patient! Your update is downloading as fast as it can and once you restart - you’ll get nothing new. But Major Nelson says Halo 3 is back on top of the Live charts this week!
It’s not exactly an interesting update to report. No, it’s not the upcoming dashboard enhancements we heard about at E3. It’s just a collection of code to set the framework for the biggie this fall.
Some might have been hopeful that the Fall update was coming a bit early because it had allegedly been leaked. There is video out there of the Live dashboard update working on a modded Xbox 360, using the Infectus 2 Chip. According to some wishful fanboys the update might come out a bit early because of the leak. But you know that ain’t gonna happen!
As always, Microsoft won’t release a new product until it has gone through rigorous quality assurance testing. This ensures a premium quality experience for its customers (sarcasm in text doesn’t always translate).
The good new is that Halo 3 is back in the first place spot on Xbox Live. Despite the dissapointment a lot felt with the game, Halo 3 is one of the best multiplayer games out there. The Live community’s love affair with Call of Duty 4 might be waning. I can’t even play random team games of CoD4 anymore… it seems players are just way over my head. Even the new maps are broken down to a science for many of the kids on Live. They know exactly where to throw grenades to explode in maximum traffic areas. I’m still trying to find my way to the bathroom.
