Nintendo Virtual Console gift giving meets Pokemon Snap
Gift giving used to be such a pain. Trying to figure out what people want is difficult when all you really want to do is just play some more games on your Wii.
But what if the people on your Christmas shopping list are thinking the same thing? You’re in luck!
Gift giving just got a whole lot easier with the Nintendo Virtual Console’s new gift-giving feature. Forget looking for another tacky tie for dad and doesn’t your mom have enough ridiculous Christmas sweaters?
Drop all those dumb gift ideas - there’s a classic Nintendo console game just for them.
Wii Virtual Console
Wii Virtual Console is like an emulator for your Wii. It lets you play classic games from Nintendo’s illustrious past. Go to the Wii Shop channel and for just 500 Nintendo points ($5) you can bury yourself knee-deep in classics from Sega Genesis, SNES and N64.
I’ve gotta tell ya’ - games like TurboGrafix, MSX and Neo Geo are looking as fresh and chunky as the day they were launched.
The new gift-giving features means that now you can share the pleasure of retro-graphics with your friends. Just discreetly exchange Friends Codes with everyone on your Christmas shopping list and send them a game.
Go to the Wii Shop channel and spread the merriment. Buy an old game and have it sent to your friend’s Wii.
Just so you don’t give the wrong gift, Nintendo has a built in gift-giving failsafe. If you try to buy a Virtual Console game for someone who already has that game, you’ll be notified before you commit to sending them the game and given the opportunity to make another selection.
It’s Pokemon!
The latest game being offered up by Nintendo’s virtual console is N64’s Pokemon Snap. This is the first Pokemon game offered on Wii’s Virtual Console.
Now, you can give Pokemon Snap to whole family at Christmas, provided they’re on your friends list.
