Guitar Hero Air Rocker, but it’s not for Wii, PS3 or Xbox 360

Guitar Hero Air RockerGuitar Hero Air RockerIt rides the mullet of the success of popular games for PlayStation3 and Xbox 360, but the similarity ends there. Guitar Hero Air Rocker is a new musical toy rather than a new peripheral for a game console.

Appeal to your inner burn-out

If you’ve ever enjoyed jamming with an air guitar in your hands, this toy takes it to the next level. Instead of tapping buttons on a console’s peripheral you’re hooked up with a belt buckle so stylish it might make Motorhead front-man Lemmy go hoarse with envy.

It’s being released by Jada Toys and it takes a simple approach to busting out your favorite Van Halen riffs. You don’t have to worry about what the fret hand is doing. You can go ahead and hold it in the air for that classic guitar rock pose. Or just use it to point to that chick in the front row going ga-ga over your peroxide flowing locks while you show that Smoke on the Water really does have a spiritual, sensitive side.

The real work is taking place in front of your stylish buckle with your fingers strumming the special pick to the right tempo of the recorded music. It’s similar to Guitar Hero but without the console or toy guitar.

The buckle senses the position of the pick where you input your jam by simply strumming. The buckle sends the rocking result to a mini amplifier or it can be hooked to your own external speakers.

New cartridges can be expected in the future to expand the song selection. Included are guitar classics by Van Halen, Motorhead, Black Sabbath, Boston and more.

Keep on rockin’ maing, dude n’ stuff!

What if you already play guitar hero? what good is this toy, I don't think it's going anywhere

Amusing gadget at first, but then you start to think just how retarded it is. There's no real skill or interaction, just waving your hand in fron t of the receiver, right? Unless I missed something.

I can't think of a scenario where you wouldn't look like an a$$ using/playing it...
