Gears of War Price Drop and Special Edition on Xbox 360

Gears of War Xbox 360Gears of War Xbox 360One of the best shooters to come along for the Xbox 360 is getting a much appreciated price drop. If you haven’t taken a walk in Markus Fenix boots yet your chance to do it on the cheap comes on June 4, but you might want to hold out for awhile and get your hands on the Special Edition.

The scheduled release of the $40 version of Gears of War is June 4. But soon after on June 24, a special edition two-disc set of Gears of War for Xbox 360 will appear at the same retail price of … you guessed it $40.

The Special Edition of Gears of War will feature the game on the first disc but the second disc will contain the extra goodies. Included on disc two will be Map packs 1 & 2 along with some Gears of War themes and trailers.

Sorry Xbox 360 gamers, this new version won’t include the Timgad level which is a PC exclusive. If you’re not a huge GoW fanatic is it worth the wait for the extra disc? After all it’s only a couple of map packs and some themes and trailers.

Yes, you might as well wait! You’ve waited this long to jump into GoW - what’s twenty more days? Look on the bright side, by the time you’ve completed all the GoW Special Edition content you’ll be ready for the sequel due out in November.

Editorial Correction: GoW is a third person shooter, not a first person shooter. It’s a POV thing.

hahaha I mean how can you say it is a first person ???

You are going to write a story about a very popular
game ... To top it all off you get the story wrong,
    IT'S 3RD PERSON SHOOTER !!!!!!!!! duh !!!!!!!!
I think this guy works for fox news>>>>?????
  5. Editor says:
Hmm. I hear what you're saying, but I believe I'll chalk it up to a typeo. The difference between 3rd and 1st is one word, boy you people who feel like you found a fresh corpse in the park need to lighten up.

I wouldn't say I got the story wrong. The story is in fact correct, the game is being discounted and there is a spec ed version coming.

Hey, it's been months since I played GoW and I play a lot of FPS games. Gimmie a goddamned break!
  6. Editor says:
The first line read fps rather than just shooter, it was noted with an editorial correction.

Lord-a-mercy, it's a typo! Everyone — hurl insults at the editor!

Geez. Go back to your collectible card games in your mom's basement and leave the dude alone. Like you guys never make mistakes ....

    Jackasses.

What makes "special" this edition? without the extra chapter of the pc version I'll pass.
  9. Sean Bean2 says:
thats cool and all, but its too bad everybody already has that game...but on the bright side, if you dont have it, the 2-disc one sounds like a sweet deal
  10. Wayde says:
Hey Sean Bean... I'm a big fan of your Sharp series of films!

Oh, and I always thought Gondor didn't need a king either.
