EA Stays Relevant with Skate It for Wii
For the last few years EA has developed polished games in the most populated genres that completely fail to break new ground. But Nintendo Wii may have given the conservative games company an excuse to innovate.
Skate It is an upcoming EA project and an exclusive for Nintendo Wii and DS. It’s really a blood brother to Skate using the FlickIt control scheme. But EA says it’s building the new game from scratch with some fresh new designs and gameplay components.
The best part about Skate It for Wii is that it’ll use the Wii balance board. Soon you’ll be able to perform the flick maneuver in-game and fall flat on your face or roll onto the coffee table snapping your femur - just like you would with a real skateboard!
The game will also be available for the Nintendo DS for those less inclined to break limbs or cause damage to furniture. The DS version will use a safe stylus to perform the complex skateboard tricks.
Nintendo Wii is proving a watershed for new found EA innovation. But be careful! Have you seen some of the destruction caused by Wii peripherals?
