AT&T orders Grande Wi-Fi with double shot of iTunes

Starbucks Wi-FiStarbucks Wi-FiAT&T has cut a deal with Starbucks that further cements relations with Apple. The exclusive mobile carrier for iPhone promises to provide Wi-Fi to over 7,000 Starbucks locations this spring. AT&T subscribers and Starbucks card carriers will soon order up a mocha latte for that long distance feeling.

Not long ago we reported on AT&T’s phenomenal growth in 2007. Over 70 million people subscribe to AT&T between its mobile and home services. The company already controls some 10,000 Wi-Fi hotspots across the country and will soon ad Starbucks locations to its list. Starbucks has decided to disconnect from current Wi-Fi provider T-Mobile and go with AT&T instead.

Fortunately for AT&T broadband subscribers the company plans on giving its customers free, unlimited access at its Wi-Fi hotspots. Now you can surf the web on a Wi-Fi device while sipping mediocre coffee.

Starbucks cardholders will have the option to purchase Wi-Fi network access at rates of $3.99 for a two hour session or a monthly unlimited fee of $19.99. Eligible AT&T customers will get it for free and remember - Starbucks is unrolling a free iTunes access scheme so you can buy the music you hear on your local Starbuck’s playlist.

Or you could just go down the road to a coffee shop with free Wi-Fi access and probably better coffee.
